Last night, I dreamed about water, music and a cheerful orange tree in the middle of the sea.
This series was inspired by my mother's lifelong dream. She dreamed about being a florist. She dreamed about collecting flowers early in the morning when the sun was rising and the morning dew would damp her dress. Then she would make arrangements to celebrate love, compassion and understanding. My mother never became a florist; however she has a garden with flowers of many colors and she shares her flowers with everyone she meets. My paintings are a celebration of her dream and the effect that flowers have on all of us.
I want to be a sunflower
I want to be like a sunflower; even in the darkest days I will stand tall and find the sunshine.
Where have all the flowers gone?
Stop and smell the flowers
A few flowers from my garden
With a few flowers from my garden, half a dozen pictures and some books, I live without envy." - Lope de Vega
The lady and the water horse
Most of my work is based on dreams or dear stories that I collect from every person I meet. This painting is based on the story that my grandfather once shared me. He told me that when he was a child he used to have a rooster as a pet. And the rooster would travel with him everywhere.
